TotalEnergies to provide 474 MW of renewable power to Amazon

July 29 (Renewables Now) - TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTE) today said it has entered into a strategic collaboration with Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) that includes the signing of power purchase agreements (PPAs) tied to 474 MW of renewable capacity in the US and Europe.

The French energy major will provide renewable energy and potential battery energy solutions to Amazon in support of the US e-commerce giant’s goal of powering its operations with 100% renewable energy by 2030 and achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2040.

The companies expect to expand their renewables partnership in the Middle East and the Asia Pacific.

The strategic collaboration will also see Amazon advance TotalEnergies’ digital transformation. The French company expects cloud provider Amazon Web Services (AWS) to help it speed up its move to the cloud, boost its IT transformation, the digitisation of its operations and its digital innovation.
